At Cenvar Solar, we specialize in designing systems that fit the unique needs of properties in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We recently completed a robust 13.68 kW AC residential installation in Meadows of Dan, Virginia, demonstrating our ability to work with diverse roof types and strict utility standards.

Versatile Installation on Multiple Roof Surfaces

Every property is different, and this project in Patrick County required a versatile approach. Our installation teams are experts in mounting solar arrays across various roofing materials. As seen in the project gallery, this installation featured panels mounted on both a green metal roof and a traditional asphalt shingle roof.

Whether utilizing seam clamps for metal roofs or flashing attachments for shingles, we ensure every penetration is watertight and structurally sound. The result is a cohesive power plant that maximizes the available sun exposure across different sections of the property.

Advanced Microinverter Technology

Reliability is key for our customers. For this system, we utilized advanced microinverter technology. As verified by our commissioning tests, all 35 microinverters were successfully provisioned, communicating, and producing power immediately upon startup.

This decentralized setup ensures that shading on one part of the roof doesn't drag down the performance of the entire system—a crucial feature for homes surrounded by the beautiful trees of Patrick County.

Seamless Permitting and Inspection

Navigating the approval process is a major part of our turnkey service. This system connects to the grid via Appalachian Power (APCO). We ensured full compliance with utility requirements, including the installation of a visible AC generator disconnect switch located directly next to the meter.

We are proud to announce that this project passed its final inspection with the Patrick County Building Department on November 12, 2025. The county confirmed that everything was in compliance with the submitted plans, allowing the service to be officially turned over to AEP for operation.

Why Solar in Meadows of Dan?

With a 13.68 kW AC capacity, this system is a significant energy asset. By generating their own clean power, these homeowners are insulating themselves from rising utility rates while preserving the natural beauty of the Virginia highlands.
