This home now features a 29.25 kW rooftop solar system, one of the larger residential systems our Richmond branch has installed. The system includes 65 REC Alpha Pure-RX panels paired with Enphase IQ8 microinverters, delivering industry-leading efficiency and reliability. Each panel operates independently, allowing for consistent power production and real-time monitoring through the Enphase Enlighten app.

The array was securely mounted using Unirac NXT UMount racking and Stronghold Butyl attachments, ensuring watertight protection and long-term durability. Engineering analysis confirmed the existing roof structure met all safety and performance standards under the 2021 Virginia Residential Code, with no reinforcements required.

Power and Performance

Designed to maximize roof space and sun exposure, this system produces an impressive 34,917 kilowatt-hours per year, covering approximately 121% of the homeowner’s energy needs. That extra capacity provides future flexibility — whether for adding an electric vehicle, heat pump, or other home upgrades.

By offsetting traditional energy use, this system will prevent tens of thousands of pounds of CO₂ emissions annually — the equivalent of planting more than a thousand trees or eliminating hundreds of barrels of oil over its lifespan.
